PROJECT OVERVIEW
The National Rural Health Association (NRHA) partnered with our agency to completely overhaul its outdated website and create a unified digital experience for its diverse membership, policymakers, and the public. The legacy site suffered from an aging visual style, poor mobile responsiveness, and a non-compliant WCAG framework that made content difficult to access and navigate. Our objectives included modernizing the visual design, clarifying the site’s complex information architecture, improving accessibility, and building a mobile-first interface that reflected NRHA’s mission to support rural health initiatives nationwide. As the UI Designer, I led the creation of page layouts, a scalable design system, and a flexible style guide—including new typography, component library, and interaction patterns—while pushing for early wireframes, whiteboard sessions, and user journeys in an environment that traditionally undervalued UX. The intended outcome was to provide a clearer, faster, and more trustworthy online experience that strengthened NRHA’s credibility, increased engagement with key content areas such as events and policy updates, and laid the groundwork for future growth through a maintainable design system. Working across high-priority pages such as Home, About, Landing, Press, Contact, Blog, Team, and Events, I established a consistent and responsive design language that allowed NRHA to present its advocacy, membership benefits, and policy resources in a clearer, more accessible, and mobile-first way.
